What's the likelihood of a hot war in the Koreas within the next couple months? What do you think the effects would be?
Hopefully the chances are slim to none. North Korea knows that if they’ll start anything, it’s suicide, and yet for a country like North Korea, it could still be on the table. South Korea knows that it has virtually everyone on its side in this issue, which should be sufficient for deterrence. The failure of the U.S. government to successfully prevent (or lead) a war would politically make the Obama administration a lamer duck than Jimmy Carter after the Iranian revolution, but most importantly, thousands if not millions of lives would be lost due to the hubris of North Korea’s leaders.
And yes, I did just make light of Leslie Nielsen's underwear-clad cameo in NUTS last night.
Glad to have done it while he was still alive.
